When a fire breaks out, many people panic and mistakenly believe that hiding in the bathroom, where there is water, might be safer. We would like to strongly remind everyone: Never hide in the bathroom during a fire.
Why is the bathroom unsafe during a fire?
1.Limited water supply cannot extinguish large fires:
Showerheads and faucets provide only a small amount of water and are not effective in putting out fires. Temperatures in a fire can reach several hundred degrees Celsius, and the water in the bathroom cannot block the spread of smoke or heat.
2.No exits, high risk of entrapment:
Most bathrooms do not have external windows. Once the fire spreads and smoke or heat blocks the exit, it becomes impossible to escape.
3.Enclosed space with insufficient oxygen:
Bathrooms are enclosed areas. Drainpipes are equipped with water traps that block airflow, meaning fresh air cannot enter the space.
4.Low heat resistance of doors and ceilings:
Bathroom doors and ceilings are often made of plastic materials, and many doors have vented panels that cannot withstand high temperatures or effectively keep smoke out.
